Can't Wait for THIS...

I love Thanksgiving! Cooking is one of my favorite things, and I love to try new recipes and dishes. I am all for sticking with the good ol' traditional feast on Thanksgiving, but the appetizers and snacks are fun to be creative with. (Even the occasional new side dish is great!).

On Thanksgiving, we are with either my family or Ryan's family. I love being with people we love and creating new traditions or keeping up with old ones. One tradition that I love is when we each say what we are thankful for before or during dinner. One year, growing up, we made a "Thanksgiving Tree" and each person wrote on a paper leaf what they were thankful for. At dinner, each person picked a leaf off and read it, then we had to guess who wrote it. It was great. Sometimes it was very obvious, other times, it was tough to figure it out.
Do you have any Thanksgiving traditions, or memories that you like?

I love the Thanksgiving tree idea!

Our first Thanksgiving married was spent in England. I was trying to make homemade pie crusts, just like my dad has done for years. I was getting SO frustrated because it wasn't turning out right. I was practically on the verge of tears. This day was supposed to be perfect, right? Well, Brandon wanted to help. He comes in the kitchen and looks at my crusts. "Honey, just steal from the rich and give to the poor." He was telling me to take some crust from the thick part and put in on the part that was diminishing. He was just trying to help, but I was so mad that he said that. I took the pie crust and threw it at him. It stuck to the wall, and we were left with a big grease spot. I don't think I've attempted homemade crusts since then.

My favorite Thanksgiving tradition is stuffing my face full of homemade orange rolls (i think 16 is my record), then laying on the couch moaning and groaning for the rest of the day!

I love your tree tradition. I might just use that this year. Enjoy your Thanksgiving this year!

The tradition I love is when Ryan and Kelly hide the candy in the garage so no one else can eat it!!

(I'm bringing oreo truffles again!)
